HERSHEY, PA — Hockey Fights Cancer Night is coming to Hershey, and while the Bears’ annual Pink the Rink night was also special, this year Bears’ fans have even more to celebrate as defender Logan Pyett made his return to hockey this season after being diagnosed with sarcoma in 2015. Fans may also remember that Riley Barber’s mother, a cancer survivor, dropped the puck for last year’s Pink the Rink night (here).
Of course, many in the hockey community and beyond have been impacted by the effects of cancer and have their own stories to share. Special Bears themed “I Fight For” signs will be available throughout the concourse on Sunday to share your message. The club will hold a “Moment of Fight” during the second period, and fans will be asked to hold up their “I Fight For” signs to showcase friends, family, and loved ones who have been impacted by cancer. (You can also download and print a sign at home here.)
Fans are encouraged to wear lavender, and Penn State Health will assist with this by providing the first 5,000 fans at the game a lavender t-shirt. The Bears will be wearing some lavender, as well, donning specialty Hockey Fights Cancer themed jerseys for the evening, which will be auctioned off after the game. (See photos of the jerseys below)
If you want to spread your story even further, fans are encouraged to join the conversation online by using hashtags #HBHIFightFor and #HockeyFightsCancer.

We hope the fans will come out and support the cause. Funds from the jersey auction will go to the American Cancer Society and the Four Diamonds Fund, an organization that provides financial assistance, care, and support to families with children who have cancer. Four Diamonds has assisted 100 percent of the childhood cancer patients who have been treated at Penn State Children’s Hospital.
Some come to Chocolate Town, buy a jersey, and puck cancer.
