On Sunday, October 28, Capitals prospect Kody Clark scored the game winning goal for the Ottawa 67’s, giving them a 4-3 victory over the Sudbury Wolves. Clark, 19, was the Capitals’ second-round pick (47th overall) this past June.
At 0:18 into the overtime period, Macauley Carson was sent to the penalty box for hooking giving the 67’s the power play. Near the end of the power play, at 2:10 into overtime, Clark struck, getting assists from Marco Rossi and Jack Quinn. Clark scored on the team’s tenth shot during overtime.
It was a great day for Clark overall, as he also assisted on the team’s first goal, scored by Graeme Clarke at 17:53. Sasha Chmelevsky also assisted. This particular goal helped the 67’s climb out of an early 2-0 deficit. Clark was named the first star of the game. [video from Ottawa 67’s]
It was the team’s third straight win, their seventh straight win at home, and their ninth win in their last ten games. They have compiled a 9-0-1 record over the last ten games.

It’s been a great week for Clark. Today, he had the game winner. Earlier this week, he signed his first professional contract with the Washington Capitals.
Clark has four goals and two assists in 16 games so far this season.

Benton Maass scored the game-winner with a shot from the right circle at 1:40 of the extra period with an assist going to Charlie Kelleher.
“You generally remember overtime wins for some reason,” Souza said. “This will be one I’ll certainly never forget.”
Jackson Pierson and Marcus Vela scored in the third period to force OT. Vela’s tying goal came on the power play and Pierson’s strike came four seconds after a Vermont penalty expired.
Kelleher’s cross-ice pass found Maass backdoor in the right circle for a high finish and the sophomore defenseman was mobbed by his teammates.
“I lost my stick so I had to go back to the bench to get another one,” Maass said. “Then I saw Charlie roll out of the corner. The pass he gave me was pretty nice. He put it right on my tape and I pretty much had a wide open net. The least I could do was put it in the net.”
