We’re reaching the point in Alex Ovechkin’s career where notable milestone achievements are occurring on a fairly regular basis. It seems like he’s reaching a new historical mark almost each and every game. Wednesday night’s game against the Rangers was no different, as he reached two more notable marks in his historic NHL career.
With two goals in Wednesday nights game, Ovechkin tied Jaromir Jagr for second place on the all time list for multi-goal games with 122 (Since 1991-1992 season). It should be noted that Ovechkin reached this mark in 644 fewer games than Jagr. Ovechkin needs nine more multi-goal games to tie Teemu Selanne for most milti-goal games all time.
In addition to Ovechkin’s multi-goal game milestone, Ovechkin tied Dino Ciccarelli for 6th place all time in career power play goals by a winger with 232. He needs just five more power play goals to tie Brendan Shanahan for fifth place on the all time list. Stay tuned.
