The Washington Capitals took the ice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Wednesday in preparations for their game tonight against the New York Rangers at Capital One Arena. Puck drop is at 7 PM on NBCSN. Here are all of the news from Wednesday’s Capitals’ morning skate:
After two consecutive regulation losses where the team has combined for a total of three goals, Capitals’ head coach Todd Reirden made a tweak to his fourth line, swapping forward Dmitrij Jaskin out of the lineup in favor of forward Nathan Walker. Walker, 24, played the first two games of the season and recorded one assist but hasn’t seen game action for almost two weeks.
Capitals forward Travis Boyd, who is currently placed on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury, skated in a light blue no-contact jersey. On LTIR, Boyd, 24, is not eligible to return until November 1 at the Montreal Canadiens.
Travis Boyd is skating around a bit this morning. Light-blue jersey, which means no contact. Had a protective boot on his left foot, which isn’t there anymore. Still has to miss five more games as part of LTIR.
