The Hershey Bears beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 3-2 Wednesday night in Wilkes-Barre. The victory is the first of the season for the Bears, improving their record to 1-5-0 on the season. The Bears return to action Friday night when they visit the Checkers in Charlotte, North Carolina.
STARTERS
FIRST PERIOD
The Bears would strike first with a goal from Axel Jonsson-Fjallby at 1:40 of the opening frame. This was Axel’s first professional goal in North America. Tyler Lewington was credited with the lone assist.

That would be all of the scoring in the opening frame. The Penguins outshot the Bears 13-9 for the first 20 minutes.
SECOND PERIOD
The Bears would stretch their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Liam O’Brien at 19:39 of the middle frame.

And that would be all of the scoring for the middle frame. The Penguins outshot the Bears 18-11 for the second period.
THIRD PERIOD
The Penguins would climb back into the contest in the final frame. First, Tobias Lindberg would score at 2:19 of the third to make it 2-1.

Less than two minutes later the Penguins would tie the game with a goal from Garrett Wilson at 4:08 of the final frame.

But the Bears would not be denied. Former Penguin Jayson Megna would score the eventual game winner for the Bears at 6:19 of the final frame.
