A Closer Look at Ovechkin’s 2017-2018 Measuring Stick

Mike Vogel, the Capitals reporter for Monumental Sports and Entertainment, posted a series of photos to his Instagram account Thursday evening, showing Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov busy at the power saw at the Prudential Center. The two were pruning their twigs before their upcoming game with the New Jersey Devils. The photos included a closeup of Alex Ovechkin’s infamous measuring stick.

Vogel inscribed on his Instagram post, “Dreary day in Newark, and Kuznetsov and Ovechkin are busy perfecting their tools ahead of tonight’s’ dance with the Devils. #Caps #2017-18MeasuringStickHandsOffBitches“

Vogel also provided a closer look at the latest inscription on Ovechkin’s infamous measuring stick. The measuring stick accompanies all of Ovechkin’s game sticks, and is used for standardizing his preferences and stick dimensions.

Believe it or not, Ovechkin has cleaned things up a bit his since 2013.
