Washington Capitals Weekend Off-Ice Update — Oct 6-8, 2018: Puppies and Farms

Photos: Capitals

With no games taking place from Thursday October 4 through Wednesday October 10, and the long Columbus Day weekend, the Capitals players have been involved with a number of family activities during their time off. Here is the first installment of our regular off-ice updates on the Washington Capitals and their families.

Canine Calendar Photo Shoot
On a Saturday where many churches were holding their annual Blessing of the Animals ceremony in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the Caps were involved in their own blessing of the animals ceremony.  It was the annual Canine Calendar Photo shoot where the Washington Capitals players would pose with either their own dogs or rescue animals provided by the Homeward Trails Rescue Organization.

This year, because the Caps had won the Stanley Cup, this involved posing pictures of the animals with the Stanley Cup.  The photo shoot took place at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Saturday.

Cox Farm Outing
On Columbus Day, taking advantage of the nice weather, the Oshies and the Carlsons headed out to Cox Farm for their children to take part in activities there, including horseback riding.
