What a night! The Summer Of 2018 was definitely one for the books, if you are a Washington Capitals fan. And it all came to a beautiful conclusion last night at Capital One Arena. I don’t think you could script a better way of putting a bow on things.
Wednesday was filled with all sorts of celebrations and events for fans, leading up to the banner-raising ceremony, prior to the opening of the 2018-2019 season.
The actual pre-game and banner-raising ceremonies were very well done by the Capitals game entertainment staff. Definitely worthy of a championship team.
Without question, the best video from the banner-raising ceremony was the “We are the Champions” montage.
Well done, Capitals Entertainment crew…..well done.

I think my favorite part was watching the player reactions as they watched the montage on the video board and they watched the banner go up. They seemed genuinely moved.
Definitively, they looked extremely moved by the pre-game ceremonies. I was certainly concerned about the start of the game. Reirden said he “challenged them” after the ceremony. He needs to can whatever he said.

Sorry, but the complete scrubbing of Trotz from the videos combined with the lack of a mention by leonsis was petty and low class. Leonsis is a jerk, no way around it.
I agree with the scrubbing of Trotz. Petty move.
