Capitals Announce Third Round of Roster Cuts

The Washington Capitals made their third round of roster cuts on Wednesday afternoon. 

The team sent defenseman Lucas Johansen, defenseman Connor Hobbs, forward Axel Jonnson-Fjallby, center Garrett Pilon, defenseman Colby Williams, and forward Juuso Ikonen to the Hershey Bears. They also placed defenseman Tyler Lewington and forward Michael Scarbossa on waivers with the intention of sending them down to Hershey.

The team had the day off following their first preseason win at the St. Louis Blues last night. The team practices at MedStar Capitals Iceplex tomorrow morning at 10:30. You can find the full practice schedule here.

The Capitals close out the preseason with a short two-game homestand, which begins at 7 PM on Friday night against Carolina. The team closes out the preseason on Sunday at 3 PM vs. St. Louis.

The Capitals will release their opening night roster on Tuesday, one night before their opener against the Boston Bruins at Capital One Arena.
