The Washington Capitals notified long-time season ticket holders that they are selling a limited edition commemorative ring to honor the club’s Stanley Cup championship. The sale will be limited to just 145 rings, which will run $12,018 each. The presale is only open to season ticket holders who received an email.

The Capitals have partnered with Jostens, known for their school class rings but also the leading manufacturer of championship rings. According to the team, this is the first time in NHL history that such a ring has been produced and “will be the closest design to the official player championship ring available for purchase.”

From Capitals’ Email

“This 10K gold ring will have approximately 258 round diamonds and other specialty stones adding up to approximately 5.5 carats. The 145 Ring will also feature similar details as the Capitals Official Team Ring including the ability to personalize it with your last name.  The ring is priced at $12,018.”

“The Washington Capitals Stanley Cup 145 Limited Edition Ring is centered around the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs four series game-winners,” says the team, explaining:

  • The winning goal in the first round against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 6 was Devante Smith-Pelly, #25.
  • The second round match-up against the Pittsburgh Penguins saw the memorable series clincher scored by Evgeny Kuznetsov goal, #92.
  • The Conference Finals victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning was clinched by the first goal in game seven by the great 8, Alexander Ovechkin, #8.
  • A moment that will go down forever in Capitals history, all Caps fans remember where they were when Lars Eller, #20, scored the game-winning goal later in the 3rd period vs. the Vegas Knights in game five of the Stanley Cup Final.

The jersey numbers of the four game-winning goal scorers adds up to 145. Unfortunately, no photos of the rings were available.
