Capital One Arena received many upgrades over the Washington Capitals offseason. The upgrades were highlighted by new seats and a complete renovation of the arena concourses. NoVa Caps’ Harrison Brown, who is also a Capitals’ season ticket holder, saw the new arena renovations at the Capitals’ preseason game against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.

Below, you can see the VIP seats for Rows A and B. As was the case previously, the seats are removable, not permanent, but they are sturdier and have more padding than the old blue seats.

Sitting in these seats were a lot more comfortable than the previous ones as they are stronger and softer.

In addition to the seats, the team store was also remodeled to make it slightly more spacious. The design is similar to the old store with the exception of where the checkout registers are located. The other big change: plenty of new Stanley Cup Champions gear!!

There were also changes to the concourse and signage. The most noticeable change is to the suite entrances. Instead of the floor to ceiling panels featuring Caps and Wizards players, the suite entrances now feature half-walls.

The halls of the arena were repainted and new section plates were installed. Some of the concourse concessions have been relocated to make the hallways appear roomier, but the true test will come Opening Night when the Caps have a full crowd on hand.

Some of the biggest changes in the $40 million arena overhaul were to the PWC Club. Unfortunately, renovations are still underway, so the Club was draped off tonight.
