The Washington Capitals held team media day on Thursday, one day before the team officially opens training camp for the 2018-19 season.

The players skated on the ice for video and photo shoots and the team held a Q&A with the players on their Instagram story.

Capitals’ forward T.J. Oshie was throwing snow at the camera lens while center Evgeny Kuznetsov got into position to take a faceoff. The two forwards represented the Capitals at NHL Media Day last Friday.

The entire roster took also took their individual headshots.

Capitals’ defenseman John Carlson, who signed an eight-year contract extension with the team June 24 after leading NHL defensemen with 68 points, and center Nicklas Backstrom were just chilling while waiting to get their headshots taken.

Linemates Kuznetsov and forward Tom Wilson, who signed a six-year contract extension with the team on July 27, did a painting competition against one another.

While the defending Stanley Cup Champions were laid back today, it’s no doubt that tomorrow they will return their focus will turn to their effort towards repeating this upcoming season. The team will open the preseason on Sunday at TD Garden against the Boston Bruins at 1 PM.
