Philipp Grubauer Has Farewell Party, Message to DC, Before Departing to Denver

@isobel_Leandra

Philipp Grubauer and his girlfriend, Isobel Leandra, held one final party in DC Saturday night, before the couple departed for their new home in Denver, Colorado. As you may recall, Grubauer and Brooks Orpik were traded to the Colorado Avalanche back on June 22. Orpik was bought-out by the Avalanche, and has since re-signed with the Capitals, but Grubauer will be staying in Denver for the forseeable future, and likely battling for the starting goaltender position with former Washington Capital Semyon Varlamov.

As for Grubauer’s final shindig in the District, the event was held at the Living Room on Vermont Avenue in Northwest, DC.

Grubauer had his day with the Stanley Cup back on August 13th, in his hometown of Rosenheim, Germany. You can re-live the day right here.

Philipp had been playing pick-up hockey in front of the White House, just before his departure. Earlier in the day on Saturday, Isobel posted a video on her Instagram account of Philipp’s last skate in the District.

As for final “goodbye’s”, Isobel and Philipp left one final note for DC:

From everyone at NoVa Caps, we wish you the best, Philipp and Isobel!
