While on vacation in Miami, Washington Capitals‘ captain and Stanley Cup Champion Alex Ovechkin was skating at the Florida Panthers’ practice facility in Coral Springs on Thursday morning. The Panthers’ Ice Den is about an hour away from Miami. Ovechkin and his wife, Nastya, arrived back in the United States on July 22, and have been vacationing in South Florida for the past three weeks.

The reigning Maurice Rocket Richard winner, who led the NHL with 49 goals last season, and Conn Smythe Trophy winner, who led the NHL with 15 postseason goals, is expecting his wife, Nastya, to have her first baby later this month. Ovechkin, who will turn 33 on September 17, also won an ESPY as the best male athlete last month.
During his skate, Ovechkin went around while firing shots and doing some skating drills.
