Washington Capitals forward Shane Gersich was in action in a Da Beauty League game Monday night in Minnesota. Da Beauty League is a camp for NHL players from Minnesota.

In his first goal of the night, a wide open Gersich potted a shot from the low right circle after receiving a pass.

In his second of the night, Gersich outwaited the goalie on a two-on-one rush and snapped a shot far side in close.

Gersich helped Velocity Hockey get a 9-8 victory. After the game, Gersich posed for a picture with Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nick Jensen, who was also on Velocity Hockey.

The Capitals signed Gersich, a fifth-round pick (134th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, to a two-year entry-level contract on March 23. Gersich, 21, recorded 29 points (13 goals) in 40 games with the University of North Dakota before signing with the Capitals. In three NHL games with the Capitals, Gersich tallied an assist and a -1 rating. He also played two playoff games but was also a -1.

Gersich participated in Capitals’ development camp in June.
