Details are finally being released for “Day with the Cup” events for Capitals defenseman Christian Djoos  and center Nicklas Backstrom. This post is a translation of the original article published by the Brynas HC (here). You can checkout our up-to-date listing of dates and locations for each of the Capitals “day with the Cup” right here

For the first time in history, the Stanley Cup will come to Gävleborg (Gavle, Sweden). In addition, not only one day – but two, because “Bäckis” (Backstrom) and Djoos each get 24 hours with the Stanley Cup. And now the dates are set.

Christian Djoos will get his day with the Cup on Saturday the 11th of August. Then Nicklas Bäckström takes over and has his day on Sunday, August 12th.

The players, together with their respective mother clubs, Valbo HC (Bäckström) and Brynäs IF (Djoos), as well as Gävle municipality will open up to the public in the form of two events over that weekend. These two occasions are the only public places where the trophy will be displayed. Here is the layout in its entirety.

Saturday, August 11, Gavlerinken. Christian Djoo’s Day.

Players on-site: Christian Djoos, Nicklas Bäckström.

Arranging club: Brynäs IF.

Location: Gavlerinken.

Times: Entrance to the stadium from 09, the event on the ice begins at 10.00. The day ends at 13.00.

Information about photography: From about 10.45 you can photograph Djoos and “Bäckis” together with the Cup. To give as many people as possible the chance to be photographed until 13.00, a dedicated photographer will be in place and take the pictures. These pictures will then be printed free of charge in paper format in the arena and uploaded digitally as quickly as possible.

This is how it works: The cupboard will be placed inside locks in the middle of the ice in Gavlerinken.

Additional information: Applicants are playing both Christian Djoos and Nicklas Bäckström internals black-and-white in Gavlerinken Thursday, August 9th and are available to sign their signatures until all were available at that time.

Kiosks will be open and if you have not already done so, you will be able to draw serial cards in place.

Sunday, August 12, NickBack Arena. Nicklas Bäckströms day.

Player on site: Nicklas Bäckström.

Arranger club: Valbo HC.

Location: NickBack Arena.

Times: Entrance to the stadium from 11.30, the event on the ice starts at 12.00 when Bäckis carries the cup on the ice. The venue closes at 15.00.

Information about photography: From 12.45, all children and young people will be able to photograph together with Bäckis and the trophy. To give as many people as possible the chance to be photographed until 13.00, a dedicated photographer will be in place and take the pictures. These pictures will then be printed free of charge in paper format in the arena and uploaded digitally as quickly as possible.

This is how it works: The cup will be placed inside locks in the middle of the ice in the NickBack Arena. At the wishes of Bäcki himself, his former teammates come from the 1986s and 87 are around the bucklan. And all children and youth players can be on the ice outside the lockout. Adults are referred to the stands.
