The Stanley Cup has left Moscow, Russia and is now in the Czech Republic. Earlier today, Washington Capitals winger, Jakub Vrana, posted a picture of the Cup when it arrived as the Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague, Czech Republic.
Tuesday, July 10, is the scheduled day for defenseman, Michal Kempny, to have the Cup. He has planned two separate events for fans to celebrate with him, one to take place at the Winter Stadium in the city of Hodonín, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. and the other in the DRFG Arena in the city of Brno from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
A contest was held to determine which fans in each of those locations would win a “Backstage Pass” for a “Meet and Greet” with Kempny before the Official Event, to include a picture with the Stanley Cup.
The fans had to be following both Kempny’s account and the alvosportsofficial account on Instagram, with the drawing taking place this past Friday. Two sets of two passes apiece were awarded for both locations. It appears there will be pictures of Kempny for sale, as well.
We will have a full recap of Kempny’s “Day with the Cup” tomorrow night. Jakub Vrana is set for Wednesday.
