While the Capitals’ Stanley Cup win was just under two weeks ago, the celebration continues in even the most subtle forms. Many fans have paid tribute to the team’s first-ever team to capture Lord Stanley’s mug in different ways: some have decided to remember it forever with a tattoo or two, while others have created video collages with highlights from the 2017-18 season. But none may be more impressive than this one.
In this 13+ minute tribute video created by Capitals fan Adam Berner (@i_bern_em on Twitter), the Capitals’ entire 2018 Stanley Cup Playoff run is documented with highlights from each playoff series (their first round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets, second round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Eastern Conference Final matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and their Stanley Cup Final matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights) with music by Coldplay, One Republic, and Welcome to the Black Parade providing music to the highlights.
While it may be hard to believe, the offseason is about to officially get underway, with the 2018 NHL Entry Draft beginning on June 22 and ending the next night, and the Capitals picking at 31st overall. Following that, free agency will be the next thing on General Manager Brian MacLellan’s to-do list.
