Tom Wilson will enter the summer as a restricted free agent coming off his best season on the Capitals where he scored 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points. He also made a smooth transition from the bottom-six to the top-six, spending a chunk of the regular season and all of the postseason on the first-line with Alex Ovehckin and Evgeny Kuznetsov.
In his final media scrum, Wilson talked about how former Capital Justin Williams encouraged the team to have fun and said that it helped loosen them up and bond together more.
Wilson also mentioned that he saw a difference in his game from one or two times he was paired with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov.
Wilson talked about playing up & down the lineup all year, but noted its a big difference playing 1 or 2 games with Ovi & Kuzy versus playing 10 with them.
