The Capitals are the NHL’s 2018 Stanley Cup Champions. If you’re a long-time Caps fan like me (1974), or even somewhat new to the team, I’m sure you may have wondered if the day would ever come. Well it has: June 7th, 2018. Along with winning the title comes the honor of participating in the age-old traditional sing-along: “We Are The Champions”. (Queen, 1977).
First, lets let 16,000 Capitals fans that were at Capital One Arena for the Game 5 viewing party show you how it’s done. (@jsgreenberg78)
A bit too much? How about local media folks at the Irish Channel, for a little more subdued, but still quite festive version. (@Swhyno)
No, that doesn’t do it for you? How about the champions themselves, the 2018 Washington Capitals, after one or two adult beverages.
That’s the winner in my book. The boys are on top of the world, and rightfully so. However, we are waiting for the parade-version, before we cast our final vote.
And finally, from banner-raising night, a video produced by the Capitals:

Congratulations, Jon! You have by far the best Caps Fan page, and the best Sports Fan Page. The Caps have won the Stanley Cup …. It’s going to take a while for this to sink in! After all the years of playoff disaster, the Hockey Gods have finally relented, and delivered Unto Us! Surely the Leonsis Caps will put on some sort of monster Caps Alumni Fan Fest later this year ….. Maybe I’ll see you there! regards DayOne Caps Fanatic
