With the Washington Capitals’ Game 4 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, they are now just one win away from their first ever Stanley Cup championship. Game 5 will be in Vegas but if you can’t make that trip then D.C. will be the place to be. The Capitals will host a free watch party for Game 5 at Capital One Arena after the Mystics play their game at 4 p.m. Due to the overwhelming demand of fans wanting to get in, tickets will be required but they are free.

FROM THE CAPITALS
Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced ticketing details today for the 4:00 p.m. ET Washington Mystics vs. Minnesota Lynx game on Thursday, June 7th. Following the Mystics game, the Washington Capitals will host a Game 5 Viewing Party at Capital One Arena starting at 8 p.m. ET, presented by Capital One.

Doors open at 3 p.m. for the Mystics game and tickets to the game will be free. All tickets for the Mystics game will remain valid for entry. All tickets purchased directly from the Mystics (season tickets and single game) will be automatically refunded. If you purchased Mystics tickets from another source, please contact that source directly. We encourage fans not to purchase Mystics tickets from any secondary market sources for this game moving forward.

The Capital One VIP Cardholder Entrance will open at 2:45 for cardholders, located at 6th Street NW.

Following the Mystics game, any Mystics game attendee will be permitted to remain in their seats for the Capitals Game 5 Viewing Party. There will be no reentry into the Arena permitted during the Mystics game or Viewing Party.

FANS WANTING TO ATTEND THE VIEWING PARTY MUST GET TICKETS AT WWW.WASHINGTONCAPS.COM/VIEWINGPARTY

Tickets will be available beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 6th. Tickets are free and are limited to 2 per person. Admission will be via the F Street and Gallery Place entrances and seating is general admission, first come, first served. We encourage fans to arrive early, as general admission seating is limited and due to overwhelming demand, a ticket does not guarantee entry into the arena.

In addition, Game 5 will be broadcast outside the arena on the videoboards located at G Street and 8th Street NW beginning at 8 p.m. ET (tickets are not required for the outdoor viewing).

The Team Store will be open, with Stanley Cup® Final merchandise available and all concessions open. Capital One cardholders receive 10% off all food and beverage items, and 20% off items in the team store.

Mascot Slapshot, Red Rockers and additional Caps personalities also will be in attendance.

The first 15,000 fans will receive a Capitals rally towel presented by Capital One.

The large, energetic and excited crowds have made Capital One Arena the best place to be in Washington, D.C. this week. We ask all fans to continue to Rock the Red responsibly and ensure that the party is safe for all attendees.

So are seats refunded for Mystics now converted to “general admission,” or can you still kick some out out of your seat who got there first?

  2. BFWC says:

My understanding is Mystics STHs get two sections in lower bowl center reserved for them, everyone else has GA seating, Mystics ticket or not.

  3. Bob says:

Why do tickets if one doesn’t guarantee admission???

    • Anonymous says:

I am sure that it is so that they can manage the number of people allowed in. When they scan the tickets, they will have a count of people allowed in and know when they need to stop.

  4. Annemarie says:

Ticketmaster link started working at 1.01, already no more tickets available. What a letdown!!

    • Bob says:

While my computer kept timing out my phone app was able to secure two tickets but it was really really slow and took forever to finish the transaction.

What time do people suggest I get there? I’m driving almost 2 hours and taking the metro in
