Strong Turnout from Thursday’s Capitals Optional Practice Prior to Traveling to Tampa

The Washington Capitals held one final practice on Thursday morning before taking off for Tampa Bay for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Although it was optional skate, there was still a lot that went on. If you couldn’t make it to Kettler Capitals Iceplex, NoVa Caps has you covered from Thursday’s heavily attended optional.

Jakub Vrana, Brett Connolly, Andre Burakovsky, Alex Chiasson, Shane Gersich, Travis Boyd, Nathan Walker, Lars Eller, Devante Smith-Pelly, Tom Wilson, Chandler Stephenson

Michal Kempny, Christian Djoos, Jakub Jerabek, Madison Bowey, Matt Niskanen

Braden Holtby, Philipp Grubauer, Pheonix Copley

Andre Burakovsky was a full participant in the optional skate sporting a normal white bottom-six forward jersey. He continues to make progress as he’s now a step above Wednesday when he wore a light blue non-contact jersey.

You could see the energy that Tom Wilson showed during practice as he makes his return to the lineup Friday night for Game 1.

Happy (early) Birthday to defenseman Jakub Jerabek, who will turn 27 on Saturday.
