Shortly after Nicklas Backstrom came off the ice from his individual conditioning skate session, some Washington Capitals players came out for an optional practice at Kettler Capitals Iceplex Thursday morning, before the team took off for Tampa Bay. Among them was Andre Burakovsky.
This was Burakovsky’s second straight day skating with his teammates but his first time wearing a normal white jersey. The day prior, Burakovsky was in a light blue non-contact jersey.

Burakovsky fully participated in the practice as the Caps worked on 2-on-1 rushes, shooting, passing, and deflections.

Burakovsky hasn’t appeared in the Capitals lineup since Game 2 of their first round series with the Blue Jackets. After the optional ended, Barry Trotz reiterated that he’s still day-to-day. The Caps begin the Eastern Conference Finals tomorrow night.
