After defeating the Blue Jackets in six games, the Washington Capitals will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the third year in a row. The series begins with Game 1 on Thursday April 26 at Capital One Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
After the conclusion of the last first round playoff game, Game 7 between the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Boston Bruins, the remainder of the schedule was announced. The Bruins defeated the Maple Leafs 7-4.
Game 2 will take place on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in D.C. The series shifts to Pittsburgh for Games 3 and 4 that will occur on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Game 3 will start at 7:30 p.m. while Game 4 will start at 7 p.m.
If necessary, the series will go back to D.C. for a Game 5 on Saturday, May 5 while Game 6 will be in Pittsburgh on Monday, May 7. The decisive Game 7, should this series be tied at three game will be in D.C. on Wednesday, May 9.
