FROM THE CAPITALS MEDIA RELEASE
The National Hockey League announced today that the series opening game of the 2018 Stanley Cup Second Round between the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins will take place on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena. Game 1 will be televised on NBCSN in the U.S. In Canada, the game will be on CBC, Sportsnet and TVA Sports. A complete Second Round schedule will be announced when available.

This marks the 11th meeting between the Capitals and the Penguins in the playoffs, most in franchise history. The Capitals defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals in six games to advance to the second round for the seventh time in the last 10 seasons and for the fourth straight season, the longest active streak in the NHL. Washington overcame a 2-0 deficit to win a best-of-seven series for just the second time in franchise history. The Capitals also became the first team in NHL history to win a best-of-seven series after suffering overtime losses in Games 1 and 2 at home.

Washington will host Game 1, Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 5 and 7 in the Eastern Conference semifinals. A limited number of Capitals individual game tickets for all four possible home games of the Second Round will go on sale to the public at 8 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online by visiting WashingtonCaps.com. Additional all-inclusive ticket packages are available in the MGM National Harbor Rinkside Club, the Budweiser Brew House and the Beck’s Lounge.

Capitals fans are encouraged to make their ticket purchases directly from the team. Only tickets purchased through the team are guaranteed to be valid. Fans can purchase their tickets through any Ticketmaster sales channel listed above and also through NHL Ticket Exchange. NHL Ticket Exchange is the only guaranteed secondary ticket reseller, and all tickets purchased on NHL Ticket Exchange are verified by Ticketmaster.
