On Monday, the Vancouver Canucks all-time franchise points leaders Daniel and Henrik Sedin announced their retirement after 18 seasons.

Daniel and Henrik Sedin were selected 2^nd and 3^rd overall in the 1999 NHL Draft by the Canucks.

In 1,303 career games, Daniel Sedin has recorded 391 goals and 1,038 points.  In 1,327 career games, Henrik Sedin has recorded 240 goals and 1,068 points.  The two future Hockey Hall of Famers have combined for 2,106 points.

Among Swedish players, their numbers rank in the NHL’s top 5 all-time in points.  In International Competition, the Sedins have won gold at the Olympics and World Championships.

Off the ice, the Sedins and their families were heavily involved in the Vancouver commnunity.  In 2010, they donated $1.5 million to help build a new children’s hospital in British Columbia.  In 2014, they launched the Sedin Family Foundation, which focuses on children’s health, education, and family awareness across the province of British Columbia.

Daniel and Henrik Sedin are two of the best Swedish born players to ever play in the NHL.  They are all class, and besides being great players on the ice, are even better people off the ice.
