In conjunction with the 2018 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series between the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs, there was another game taking place in our region. On Friday morning, March 2nd at the Bowie Ice Arena, the Soldier On team took to the ice against the USA Warriors team in the NHL Sled Series.

Soldier On was founded in 2006 to help former members of the Canadian Armed Forces with illness or injury continue to be active. The USA Warriors ice hockey program serves a similar purpose for veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
Our home town USA Warriors, under Captain Kevin Gatson, were victorious over Soldier On with a final score of 8-5. Earlier this year, NoVa Caps had the opportunity to interview Kevin, you can read his remarkable story by clicking here.

To date, NoVa Caps has raised $6,605 for the Warriors. Our fundraising campaign will continue throughout the season. If you haven’t already, please consider joining many of us by making a contribution here to the Warriors via our Go Fund Me campaign.
