Monumental Sports Network hosted another VIP member event this evening at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. “On the Ice with the Caps” was an opportunity for MSN members to meet with, take photographs and skate with Capitals left winger Andre Burakovsky and defenseman Christian Djoos.

It was a great night at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia as Capitals fans who are also Monumental Sports Network members were invited to lace up their skates and join Capitals’ left winger Andre Burakovsky #65 and defenseman Christian Djoos #29 on the Washington Capitals’ practice rink.
Upon entering Kettler and getting into their skates, attendees mingled while enjoying a wide array of snacks and beverages.
Both Andre and Christian chatted with the fans while also signing autographs and taking photographs. In addition, Monumental Sports Network had a photo booth where fans were able to get a professional photograph with both Andre and Christian. The photographs were immediately ready for the fans to take with them!
Andre seemed very relaxed, happy and engaged with the fans! He was extremely friendly and seemed to enjoy the event – both on and off the ice! He’s was being interview by FOX 5 News in the image above.
Christian appeared to be right at home at the event. And while he was happy to autograph the jersey’s of his teammates, he did see at least one fan with a Djoos t-shirt! He signed that one, as did Andre – but Andre said that maybe he shouldn’t sign it – ha! The two Swedes seem to have a close friendship, this was easily apparent. I asked Christian if he missed his Hershey Bear teammates, and he said that while his is thrilled to be skating in the NHL, he does miss his AHL teammates and the fans in Hershey.
A souvenir photograph of the event was an immediately available for all of those in attendance. Many thanks to Monumental Sports Network for once again putting on another fantastic VIP event. We are already looking forward to the next one!
PS: While at Kettler, we visited the Team Store and there is quite a bit of new “Stadium Series” Caps’ gear, just in case you’re looking for some new Caps’ attire!
