This afternoon the Washington Capitals officially kicked off Hockey is for Everyone Month by hosting a Dreams for Kids DC hockey clinic at Kettler IcePlex in Arlington, Virginia. This event was for children with both physical and developmental disabilities.
On hand to welcome and skate with the kids were the following Capitals; forward Jay Beagle, defensemen Matt Niskanen, Brooks Orpik, and Taylor Chorney and Goaltender Philipp Grubauer. In addition to the Captials, a very special guest joined in, Jenny Potter who is a 4 time US Olympian. Jenny won a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics, silver medals at the 2002 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Olympics, and a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics. More than 100 children were in attendance at today’s clinic.
NoVa Caps photographer Joe Noyes was on-hand to capture the event in pictures.
