The 2018 AHL Outdoor Classic is being held at Hersheypark Stadium, and to celebrate the Hershey Bears’ 80th anniversary, they invited back some of the Bears’ and Phantoms’ greats for an Alumni Game. Bears’ fans got to see guys like Boyd Kane, Mitch Lamoureaux, Bryan Helmer, and Ray Bourque. Phantoms’ and Flyers’ fans saw John Leclair, Kimmo Timonen, Danny Briere and Eric Lindros return to the ice. It was basically a bunch of hockey legends back on the ice again.
Of course, all of the guys were loving it out there. The Bears’ alumni picked up a 9-5 win over the Flyers’ alumni. It was a high-scoring game filled with lots of smiles. Even after the other team scored, everyone was still smiling. It was nice to take a step back and forget about the standings and just watch a bunch of guys having a good time all in the name of the game.

Prospal’s family comes up to say hi during warm ups. Too cute.
The VP of Hockey Ops traded in a suit for a hockey sweater today.
After a thirty minute half, the Bears came out to congratulate goalie Phil Sauve on a great period.
The Bears are back for the second half, and in different jerseys!
Danny Briere hits the post.
Ray Bourque gets called for a tripping penalty. I love this photo. (Also, that guy isn’t wearing a helmet, that’s some old school hockey right there.)
He can’t believe the call.
His mind is blown.
Sliding in to make the save…
But it’s in anyway.
Ray Bourque never played for the Bears, but hey, we’ll take him.
The Bears win! It always ends in handshakes. Gotta love that hockey sportsmanship.
The official Outdoor Classic between the current Hershey Bears and Lehigh Valley Phantoms is Saturday. It’s sure to be a great game, especially coming off back-to-back games against each other. See you there!
