A Personal Review of Caps Casino Night

I wasn’t sure what to expect, since this was the first Caps Casino Night that I have attended. The season ticket holder event this past fall seemed rushed and a bit chaotic, so I was hoping, since this was a charity event with an entry fee, things would be different.

The event venue was beautiful, the food was wonderful, but most of all, the experience of meeting the players, getting pictures and autographs in a relaxed setting, was something that I as a Caps fan will always cherish.

The Capitals were gracious with their time, asked if we were enjoying ourselves and made us feel as though we were the VIP’s of the night.

A lot of money was raised for charity ($303,000) which is always the main focus of these get-togethers. Note to self, forewarn your spouse before you get a bit carried away bidding on the team’s end- of-year pictures experience. Darn, I should have yelled to make my presence known at the end a little better when bidding. There’s always next year!

As with every event, there are things that could have been better. If there were any recommendations I would make, it would be to have coat check accessible prior to guest check in. What I ate of the food was very good, the issue was trying to find a spot to comfortably eat, since there were too few cocktail tables for the people who attended. (Easily fixable issues)

To anyone that asks if the event was worth the money I said an enthusiastic YES. Start what I call your Caps fund now because this is an event you don’t want to miss. We will definitely be back next year.
