Are you bored and have nothing to do over the next four days with no Capitals hockey? Well, NoVa Caps has you covered. What’s more entertaining or exciting than watching Alex Ovechkin dazzle with jaw-dropping plays, gorgeous goals, and making history for the ages?
After a down year with “just” 33 goals last year, many people were questioning whether Ovechkin’s days as an elite goal scorer were over. Ovechkin put those thoughts to bed when he roared out of the gate with seven goals in the first two games, including back-to-back hat tricks.
So far this season Ovechkin has 26 goals and 43 points through 41 games, on pace for 52 goals and 86 points over the course of a full 82-game slate.
Already this season, Ovechkin has achieved a number of milestones: becoming the all-time Capitals leader in hat tricks and the NHL’s all-time leader in overtime game-winning goals along with scoring his 100th game-winning goal.
Ovechkin, 32, sits 16 goals shy from 600 career NHL goals and 22 points away from 1100 career NHL points. If he plays the rest of the season, he will play his 1000th NHL/Capitals game on Thursday, April 5, when the Capitals host the Nashville Predators.
If Ovechkin is able to stay on pace, he will reach 50 goals for the eight time in his 13-year career.

Love his goal against Ottawa in D.C. Just pure breakaway snipe. I always love the sound of the puck hit the crossbar in his GWG against Anaheim a couple of weeks ago too.
