The Hershey Bears will spend this weekend up North as they battle the Providence Bruins Friday and Sunday. Connor Hobbs notched the game winner and his first AHL goal during the 3-2 victory the last time these teams matched-up. The Bruins stand in fourth place of the Atlantic Division with a record of 7-4-2-0. Forward Austin Czarnik leads the Bruins active roster in points, notching 4 goals and 6 assists. He also stands in a three way ties for most goals by an active Bruins this season. Ryan Fitzgerald is on a hot streak for Providence, scoring two goals Friday against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins and ended the weekend with three goals and a +3 rating.
Hershey is currently on a one game winning streak while Providence holds a three game losing streak.
Chris Bourque was a former Bruin during the 2012-13 season as he also appeared in 18 games with the Boston Bruins that same season. Wayne Simpson also spent some time on the dark side during the 2014-15 and 2016-17 season which he notched 50 total points.
The Bears return home Wednesday for mid-week match-up as they host the Atlantic Division bottom feeders, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The last time these teams lined up was in Hershey as the Bears skated off with the 3-1 victory. The Thunderbirds currently hold a 3 game win streak and a 5-11-1-0 record. Chase Balisy was recently recalled from loan by Florida and will not make his appearance in Hershey.
