Bears Open Camp Tomorrow as Familiar Faces Return from Washington

HERSHEY, PA – With the historic 80th anniversary season of the Hershey Bears Hockey Club set to kick off tomorrow morning, there will be some familiar faces on the ice for practice while some are still in Washington.

The Washington Capitals announced that several players had been loaned to Hershey today including AHL-only contract players like Garrett Mitchell and Chris Bourque. Additionally, highly touted prospect Lucas Johansen and Connor Hobbs will start the season with the Bears.

Several familiar faces though remain in Washington, fighting for precious few roster spots. They include forwards Riley Barber, Travis Boyd, Liam O’Brien, Zach Sill, Chandler Stephenson, Jakub Vrana, and Nathan Walker along with defensemen Madison Bowey, Christian Djoos, Tyler Lewington, Aaron Ness, Jonas Siegenthaler, and Colby Williams along with goalies Pheonix Copley and Parker Milner.

Several familiar faces though remain in Washington, fighting for precious few roster spots. The Bears will head to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Wednesday night for their first pre-season scrimmage before hosting the Penguins Saturday. They open on the road in Lehigh Valley on Saturday, October 7.
