Today is the 35-year anniversary of “The Trade” in which the Capitals acquiried Rod Langway, Doug Jarvis, Brian Engblom and Craig Laughlin from the Montreal Canadiens for Rick Green and Ryan Walter.
The Capitals begin training camp this Friday morning at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. All on-ice activities are open and free to the general public.
Capitals’ goalie prospect Ilya Samsonov won his third consecutive game of the young KHL season, as Metallurg beat Lada 5-3 on Friday night. Samsonov improves to 3-0, with an 88.6 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA in three starts this season.
