The Washington Capitals announced today that training camp will open on Friday, September 15th at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia. That will also be the first day of the season that coaches, management, and players are open to the media.
The Capitals have three practice sessions on the ice that day. Group White will be on the ice starting at 9:30 AM, Group Red at 11 AM, and Group Blue at 12:30 PM. On September 14th, the Capitals will have their physical and off ice testing.
The Capitals will compete in a four team rookie tournament, which will be in Estero, Florida at Germain Arena from September 9-12. They will be facing the prospects of the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the defending Western Conference Champion Nashville Predators. You can watch all of those games on the Monumental Sports Network and listen on Caps Radio 24/7, which can be found on the Caps page of the NHL app.
