Evgeny Kuznetsov Takes In KHL Game, Drops Ceremonial Puck

Washington Capitals’ centerman Evgeny Kuznetsov spent part of his Sunday evening taking in a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) game in his hometown of Chelyabinsk, Russia. Kuznetsov was on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck for his old team Traktor, as they faced Avtomobilist in their home opener at the Traktor Ice Arena in Chelyabinsk. 

Kuznetsov played for Traktor from 2009 through 2014 before coming to the NHL and the Washington Capitals. It’s been reported that Kuznetsov’s KHL playing rights were sold to from Traktor to SKA this summer for $1,000,000.

Evgeny was also honered by Traktor prior to today’s game as he dropped the ceremonial first puck prior to the contest.

 

Kuznetsov attended today’s game with Russian Indie rapper Jahmal TGK.

 

This was Traktor’s first home game of the new KHL season, which officially kicked off earlier this week. Traktor fell to Avtomobilist 2-1.

Kuznetsov is set to return to Washington in the next week. Capitals training camp will likely begin on or around September 14th, following the rookie tournament.
