The Potomac Nationals, the Class High-A minor league affiliate of the Washington Nationals, held a tribute to the Mighty Ducks as part of the movie’s 25th anniversary.
They celebrated by hosting Matt Doherty who played Les Averman throughout the Mighty Ducks trilogy. The first 1,250 fans got to take home a Les Averman bobblehead and the PNats players wore special Mighty Ducks themed jerseys during their game against the Lynchburg Hillcats. The game got suspended in the fifth inning with the PNats leading 6-5, but it didn’t damper the frozen fun.
