HERSHEY, PA – The Hershey Bears announced via press release today that they have re-signed defenseman Hubert Labrie to a one-year, AHL contract.
Labrie has appeared in 281 regular season AHL games with the Texas Stars, Springfield Falcons, San Antonio Rampage, and Chicago Wolves along with the Bears. He will be considered Veteran Exempt for next season.
As a member of the Bears last season, Labrie appeared in 70 regular season games and 12 playoff games. He recorded three goals and 12 assists (8 in the regular season). It was his best offensive production to date. He was named the Arlene Tighe Award winner this past season as Hershey’s Unsung Hero.
Additionally, the native of Victoriaville, Quebec has played in a total of 57 ECHL games for the Idaho Steelheads inclusive of playoffs over three years while with the Dallas Stars organization. He was a member of the Texas Stars 2014 Calder Cup Championship team.
In the release, Hershey’s VP of Hockey Operations said, “We’re thrilled to have Hubert Labrie back for 2017-18. You want players like him on your roster. Not only does he compete hard every game, but with our incoming group of young defenders, he’s going to be a great locker room presence and a veteran leader that our young guys look up to.”
