The National Hockey League today announced the 2017-18 regular-season schedule for its 31 member clubs. The Washington Capitals will open the season against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday, October 5, with the first home game of the campaign set for Saturday, October 7, against the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. at Verizon Center.

- The Capitals will make their first appearance in Las Vegas on December 23rd, 2017.
- The Capitals west coast swing will occur March 6th-10th (Anaheim, LA, and SJ)
- The Capitals will have only four home games in the month of October.
