It’s looking more and more like Karl Alzner won’t be returning to the Capitals next season and it’s also doubtful that he’ll be in Vegas. Alzner, who is an unrestricted free agent, met with the Golden Knights during their 72-hour interview window, but didn’t opt to sign there.

It doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t play in Vegas, but according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, Alzner’s agent, who is also the agent for Jordan Weal, said it was an interesting chat but both of his clients will wait and speak to more teams.

Alzner has spent the last nine seasons with the Capitals and is projected to get a raise on his four-year, $11.2 million deal that just expired at the end of this past season.
