Viva Las Vegas! We have arrived at the most anticipated time of the offseason. In less than 24 hours we will know the roster of the NHL’s newest franchise. In addition, the best scorer, the best goaltender, the best defender, the best coach, and many more will be recognized tomorrow night as part of the annual NHL Awards Show. For the Washington Capitals, Braden Holtby will look to win his second consecutive Vezina Trophy

After Holtby landed in Vegas Tuesday afternoon, it was time to go shopping for some fresh new threads. Last year, he looked good and this year he was back at the same place looking for a wardrobe upgrade. He went to John Varvatos over at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Then it was off to T-Mobile Arena for media day.

Holtby was asked a variety of questions.
On the expansion draft:
“It’ll be a lot of fun to see. As far as a live show and such, it’ll be very unique.”

On losing a teammate to Vegas tomorrow:
“Hopefully whoever is taken gets a great opportunity”

On being back in Vegas after winning the Vezina trophy last year and getting an opportunity to repeat:
“You never want to be a one-hit wonder type of person, you want to get better every year. The team that we’ve had as a whole obviously helped get me here. It’s hard to get here without a team that’s gonna help you as a goalie. It is a huge honor to be here. I’m going to soak it in and enjoy the spectacle.”

The stage is set for tomorrow night.
