Capitals’ forward prospect Jakub Vrana spent this weekend in Cardiff, Wales, where he attended the UEFA Champions league final between Juventus and Real Madrid on Saturday.

While Vrana’s much beloved Juventus would fall to Real Madrid 4-1, he did get a chance to meet hockey legend Teemu Selanne (pictured above), who also attended the game.

On Thursday, prior to departing for England, Vrana met up with Hershey Bears teammate Vitek Vanecek (#Czechmates) while the two were in Prague.

Vrana, the Capitals’ number one draft pick in 2014 (13th overall) scored 3 goals and had 3 assists in 21 games with the Capitals this past season. This included his first ever goal in the NHL on December 9th against the Sabres.

Vrana also tallied 19 goals and 17 assists in 49 games with the Hershey Bears in the 2016-2017 season. He will be expected to make the transition to being a full-time Capital for the 2017-2018 season.
