In his annual “State of the League” address held on Monday, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed that the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, will host an outdoor game between the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The game is set for Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, at the Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The game will be the first time a U.S. service academy has hosted an NHL outdoor game. The game date is the 87th anniversary of “The Star-Spangled Banner” being officially adopted as the national anthem by a congressional resolution on March 3, 1931.
The 2018 Stadium Series game in Annapolis will be first regular-season game in Maryland since November 26, 1997 – final game in Landover.

No information has been provided regarding ticket sales. It is expected that sales will be similar to ticket sales for the 2015 Winter Classic, providing Capitals’ season ticket holders the initial choice of tickets, with a certain amount of tickets reserved for the Toronto Maple Leads and the general public. The current seating capacity for Marine Corps Memorial stadium is 34,000 (for football).
We’re headed back outside!

The Ottawa Senators will host the Montreal Canadiens in the Heritage Classic on December 19th, and the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres will play in the Winter Classic on January 1st at Citi Field in New York.
