The Hershey Bears announced via Twitter that forward Paul Carey has cleared waivers and will play tonight in Hershey’s Game 4 in the best-of-seven series against Providence in Rhode Island.
Carey, placed on waivers by the Capitals after their season ended in a Game 7 heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Penguins, has split time between Hershey and Washington this season. His arrival comes on the heels of Jakub Vrana’s upper body injury last night. As of Mann’s post-game press conference, Vrana’s status for tonight’s game and beyond was still unknown.

Carey’s return is definitely a boost to Hershey’s already potent offensive firepower. In 55 games for the Bears this season, he has 24 goals and 31 assists, finishing the regular season with a +14. He appeared in seven games (six regular season and one playoff) for Washington this season.
