Capitals-Penguins Game 7: You Feel It…I Feel it…We Feel it

You feel it, I feel it, they feel it, we feel it. That little bit of doubt that is creeping in our heads, because, we’ve been here before. Wipe that doubt away, wipe everything away, erase everything from your mind, don’t replay the past. This is different.

For the fear of sounding redundant, I don’t want to say what I’ve said in my previous posts, but you know exactly what I’m saying.

Adversity: a state or instance of serious or continued difficulty or misfortune. Every team must overcome adversity to win. Whether it be an injury, a bad bounce, a mental lapse, or even, a better team. Overcoming this is what makes champions and that’s what we will do tonight. We will finally remove that festering thorn from our sides that has been lodged there for so many years. We need to have what the shirts we buy say “Courage”. This is it. This is the time.

There is a lot you can say about the previous games and all the stats that are involved, but none of that matters right now. This is a one game playoff and the Caps get to do it at home in front of us, the crazy people in red who want nothing more than to celebrate a victory over not only a team, but over a fan base that has so many times infiltrated our homes and cheered at our misery. People who rush the steps and chant as we walk by. It’s time to take it back, this is our town, our city, our house.

There is a great quote from the movie ‘Little Giants’ that I will quote here.

“And even if those Cowboys are better than you guys, even if they beat you 99 times out of 100, that still leaves…. One time.”

Now the difference between most movies and reality is the good guys don’t always win, but our good guys deserve to win. They are going to win.

I warn you, this game is going to be up and down, high and low. You are going to get stressed and happy. But I can tell you this—DON’T STOP CHEERING! Make Verizon the loudest it has ever been. I don’t want to be able to hear a whistle blown. I just want to hear 20,000 crazy people dressed in red, waving towels, and cheering on their team. It’s going to be a fun and stressful ride, but we got this.

I’ll see you tonight, we have a date at 7th and F, it’s time to Rock the Red and Un-Leash-The-Fury!!!!!!!
