The Capitals may not be in possession of “the cup” (just yet), but at least Washington can once again place “a cup” on its collective mantel. Yes, that’s right, the highly coveted Biscuit Cup will once again reside in the DMV.
The annual contest pits media staff of the Washington Capitals against media staff of the Carolina Hurricanes, with the winner decided by the outcome of the Capitals-Hurricanes season series. With a decisive 5-0 win on Tuesday night, the Capitals clinched the season series, and thus, the Biscuit Cup. The Capitals have won the last three season series.
The festivities kicked off with a ritzy Biscuit Bowl IV “Pre-Game Gala” on Monday night at The Tombs in Georgetown.
The victory celebration took place Tuesday night following the Caps-Canes game at the Denison Liquor Bar across from Verizon Center.
Now NoVa Caps is not privy to all of the exclusive details, but apparently winning the cup means you drink high-end bourbon via the Biscuit. This form of “celly” is NoVa Caps approved.
Well done, Caps media, and congratulations on the three-peat!
