After recording his 1,000th career point at the Verizon Center on January 21, Alex Ovechkin was honored before this afternoon’s game at home against the Los Angeles Kings.
Ovechkin was joined by his mother Tatiana, his father Mikhail, and wife Nastya, and was presented with a Tiffany crystal and a golden stick with his career milestones by Capitals Owner Ted Leonsis, Team President Dick Patrick, and NHL Senior Vice President Jim Gregory.

As mentioned above, Ovechkin recorded his 1,000th career point on January 21 on a goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Coming into this afternoon’s game, he has 1,013 points. He led the Caps in goals with 25 coming into today’s game, and third in goals in the NHL. Ovechkin is the Capitals’ all-time leader in both points and goals and sat at 80th all-time in league history coming into today’s game.
