The Capitals announced this morning in a press release that they have recalled defensemen Christian Djoos and forward Chandler Stephenson from the Hershey Bears.

This will be Djoos first time getting called up from Hershey which leads one to think what it could mean for John Carlson. Carlson is hoping to return to action this week after rehabbing from a lower body injury.

The additions give the Capitals 13 forwards and eight defensemen for their game tomorrow night against the Islanders.

Djoos is the son of former NHL defender Pat Djoos, who played in 95 NHL games with Detroit and the New York Rangers.

The Bears are on break for the 2017 AHL All Star classic. They’ll return to action this Friday at Binghamton.

Djoos is also an attractive prospect for potential trade partners. If he does see action, could be something there.
