The NHL today released one of its “Centennial Memories” dedicated to Alex Ovechkin’s famous rookie season goal in Arizona, in honor of the 11-year anniversary of the amazing goal.

The video provides a recap of the goal with Joe Beninati, Craig Laughlin and Alex Ovechkin himself.

Zac Boyer of the Washington Times conducted an oral history of the goal published in January, 2016 and is well worth the read. The article interviews former teammates about the goal.
